CLICK HERE to Find SchoolsWhat colleges offer good nursing programs? and is it better to do a 4 year or 2 year program? | Nursing/Medical Schools/Careers BLOG
I have no idea where you live so that's a tough question to answer. As far as degrees, go with the BSN. Don't be worried so much about the prestige of the school since there is a huge demand for nurses. References :
If you do a two year program (which always takes more than two years because of the way most community colleges structure it), you can work and make money while going for your BSN. But you might want to just go striaght for the BSN rather than spending extra time and credits that might not transfer. You want the BSN because otherwise you have no flexibility, and cannot advance. If you are fine with always being a floor nurse, or working in a nursing home (spell dead-end) then just stick with the 2 year. References : RN; Diploma, AA, Bachelors in Health Care Administration

you'll need a BSN from an accredited college, esp if you go into the military.
