Herbal Intestine Detox Information For Improved Wellness

by Xavier Cornwallis

All those among us who eat a diet abundant in fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains, exercise well, drink plenty of water and answer nature's call without delay need not worry about colon cleansing or look for products meant for this purpose.

Our busy lives are taking a toll on our digestive systems. Many people fail to take the time for a balanced meal or to tend to bathroom needs immediately. People do not drink enough water. Instead, people tend to quickly grab fast food or a fatty coffee drink. People do not exercise enough. These failures can put your health at risk.

Poor bowel functioning leads to a wide range of problems, right from a buildup of bowel plaque to experiencing unpleasant sensations like heaviness, queasiness and a bloated feeling. All this leads one to feel quite unwell. Further, there is a risk of the toxins accumulating and eventually poisoning the whole body. This calls for some quick colon cleansing help.

An herbal colon cleanser may be the perfect answer. It can work gently and effectively to restore natural bowel function, proper digestion and better over all health. While slightly stronger herbs may be needed at first to wake things up, other formulas simply promote normal every day bowel health.

Herbal colon cleansing products nearly always contain fiber. Fiber adds bulk to the intestinal material, stimulating them to keep moving. There are two varieties of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Insoluble fiber is contained in wheat, rice bran, and some fruit and vegetables. Insoluble fiber needs to be added to a person's diet gradually, since sharply increasing the amount of insoluble fiber a person ingests can lead to gas and discomfort.

Water soluble fiber is found in oat bran and psyllium seeds and some other herbal and natural products. It absorbs water and is a gentler bulk than the insoluble fibers and less likely to upset the tummy. It also has a great benefit in grabbing on to fats and cholesterol and helping to control blood lipids implicated in heart disease.

The muscles in the intestines are stimulated enough to contract, by the herbs and extracts present in a herbal colon cleanser. This pushes the waste products along the tract and they are then excreted. Herbal stimulants perform the role of a chemical laxative, the added advantage being that they may be better tolerated. Senna and cascara sagrada are common stimulant herbs.

Many herbal colon cleanser products come in multiple formulas, including a mild formula with which you can get started and a stronger formula that cleans the bowels more aggressively. These products may be combined with colon irrigation methods, which are designed to maintain a normally functioning digestive system once the bowels have been cleaned up; they usually contain bulk forming soluble fiber.

You will want to check with your doctor to determine if herbal products are appropriate and safe for you. No matter which product you pick, always be sure to drink a lot of water and to use the bathroom when nature calls.

Mucoid plaque can build up when the bowels are sluggish, which results in an unpleasant bloated feeling. This may be accompanied by queasiness, a feeling of heaviness, and a general feeling of unease. This may be due to the accumulation of toxins that are not being properly eliminated from the body, leading to something akin to poisoning. A colon cleansing solution is needed. You can try a herbal bowel detoxification to help restore natural bowel function, proper digestion and better over all health. Initially you might need slightly stronger herbs to start off the process and most formulas help promote and maintain normal every day bowel health.
