Acne Scar Treatment

by Grace Empson

Even thinking about surgery can be frightening. Having major surgery in order to alleviate acne scars is the last option for people afflicted by damaged tissues and ice pick acne scars.

You should ask yourself- how stressed and bothered are you by your acne scars? If you love your skin, acne scars are obviously going to bother you. Are you getting to the point where you feel so self conscious walking around in public with blemishes that you feel the desire to undergo a painful surgery to cure them?

There are extremely few acne scar solutions available that cure the worst type of scarring, the ice pick acne scar. Because such scars appear to be made by someone stabbing your skin with a sharp instrument, they are commonly the most psychologically harmful scars to deal with. The reason they don't react to common scar treatments is because they need an ingredient that promotes the formation of collagen and elastin in the skin.

Scar removal is turning more and more possible with the latest discoveries in technology. Laser scar removal is now quite common for people with post inflammatory scarring and redness. Laser sessions alleviate mild to moderate acne scars but not highly depressed acne scars, and they don't promote the rebuilding elements needed to fill in the holes. It's possible that you will spend valuable time and money without seeing the results you deserve.

Treating acne scars appropriately

Fractional Resurfacing is one of the more recent advances in laser skin resurfacing. The method is comparable to other technologies in the way that the laser heats the skin and starts a cause and response. The non-invasive acne scarring treatment produces small treatment areas, permeating deep into the skin and leaving the nearby skin unaffected and intact. This 'fractional' treatment allows the skin to cure much faster using the body's natural healing process to create new, healthy, tighter tissue.

Anywhere from 13 to 20% of the area is alleviated, leaving a majority of the scar or damaged area untreated, hence the name 'fractional resurfacing'. Only a portion of the skin is resurfaced at any one time. This facial acne scar treatment allows quick injury healing and a low chance of complications. Post skin treatment secondary effects include a burning or tingling feeling. Other people complain of swelling and hyperpigmentation. Therapies are commonly repeated every two weeks but must be repeated 4 to 5 times for best results, the complication being that 3 therapies cost about 1,000 dollars and each one after that is about $500.

There is an acne scar solution called punch excision that is used frequently to help alleviate severe acne scarring. Small surgical devices are used to efficiently cut out the depressed holes and the injury is then sewn up and stitched. The strange outcome of this acne scar surgery is that you are just replacing one scar with another. This is not how to alleviate acne scars... however, people believe that the surgical scars are slightly easier to live with.

You can now get rid of scars and various types of dermal conditions thanks to a new acne scar treatment made with biological components that rejuvenate your skin without producing undesired side effects.
