How to: Natural Skin Care Products for Dry Skin Relief

by Sara Kitch

You may not be aware that dry skin has several disadvantages. Since it lacks moisture and natural oils, it is more susceptible to premature aging and begins to wrinkle fairly early on. This is usually treatable, but the problem is that dry skin is often very sensitive to traditional skin care products and harsh ingredients.

Furthermore, dry skin has two subtypes which need to be treated separately. These subtypes are normal dry skin and extremely dry skin. You may think it's a bit exaggerated, but it's necessary to treat these skin types differently.

Taking Care of Normal Dry Skin

First let's begin with the appropriate dry skin routine. Because soap and water are known to strip both natural oils and moisture from your skin, it isn't recommended that you use soapy cleansers.

If you have dry skin you should use a cream cleanser. Cream cleansers will help remove debris from your skin without stealing excess moisture. Follow up with an alcohol free toner to refresh the skin.

Your dry skin care should be rounded off with a good moisturizing cream that can be reapplied frequently during the day. Also remember to exfoliate at least once a week. You can do this by using exfoliating creams or by using a homemade mixture based on grapefruit juice and oatmeal.

Taking Care of Very Dry Skin

If your skin still feels tight and itchy after you perform the previously mentioned cleansing routine then you have very dry skin. If you feel that this is your situation then you should seriously consider switching over to oils, not oil-based products, but actual oil. Both olive oil and rose hip oil are great choices when trying to treat very dry skin.

Switch your cream cleanser for olive oil. Lather your skin with the oil. Once you let it set a minute or two use a warm towel to moisten your face. Let it set and cool on your face and then gently remove the towel along with the oil.

Apply a creamy moisturizer immediately after you've wiped off the oil. This product will be absorbed quickly into your skin locking in moisture. This is all you'll need to keep your skin moist and looking young.

To exfoliate this type of dry skin, try using milk. Keep in mind that this method can be shocking when you first use it even though milk is a frequently used natural product for dry skin. However, make sure that you moisturize immediately after exfoliating because milk tends to tighten the skin.

Finding the right natural skin care products may require some trial and error, however, the results are well worth the effort.

The best dry skin treatment requires a good skin moisturizer. BIOSKINBALM is a face skin care product made with snail serum. This natural ingredient helps moisturize and fortify dry skin gently and effectively.
