Nail Care: Common Nail Damage And The Care For Them
While a lot of people expend hours in the nail salon getting artificial fingernails put on and painted there are more people out there who neglect their nails in a most dreadful manner. One of the reasons that nail care seems to be a nonexistent part of many lives is that it just appears to be too multifaceted to undertake on your own.
The first thing about your fingernails is that they need trimming because they continue to grow throughout our lives and even the loveliest filed and painted nails will soon be out of shape without trimming. So, if you have short nails a basic, sharp nail clipper will do the best job and do not trim them right down to the quick nail care. Once your nails are trimmed, you may desire to run a nail file over them to ensure that the edges are all smooth. If you have long natural nails, you can either use a nail clipper to take a little off all around and then file them smooth or you can merely choose to take a little length off with the file alone.
The next matter in your new nail care regimen is to check out your cuticles, since a lot of people have many hangnails and ragged skin growth on the bottom and sides of their nails. If this is something that you deal with, you will want to buy a cuticle knife, which is a tool with a curved v shaped knife in the end of it.
File the ends of the nail with an emery board or file until they are at a comfortable length. Cuticles are the outermost layer of skin that stick out above the nail surface and when the nail grows the cuticles dry out and become ragged, and they should not be removed, but rather pushed back, using a few drops of a good cuticle oil and a cotton bud to do the pushing towards the topmost finger joint. The nail care for the cuticles would be done whenever necessary; it is different for each man; so this procedure may save some pain at a later time.
If the cuticle material is too much, at least do the trimming and filing that will satisfy your nail care. It's the beginning but keep in mind to never bite your nails. These treatments can be obtained from any respectable men's manicure provider, but it can be done by you in a much cheaper way. All you need is a basic manicure set and the cuticle oil as your partner will be grateful for the care you show for your nails.
