This "serum" is extracted from the Helix aspersa commonly known as the brown garden snail. The practice of extracting serum for skincare is relatively new, but snail farming (heliciculture) has been around for ages.

Recently, snail serum has gained popularity as the chief ingredient in skin care products especially those used as scars prevention creams. It has been shown to be hypoallergenic and gentle enough to be used by anyone no matter their skin type.

Tests have shown that snail serum has produced improvements in photoaging skin and dermatitis caused by radiation in cancer patients. This substance strengthens fragile skin and helps regenerate lesions without producing abnormal scarring. Ultimately, research has confirmed testimonials made by heliciculture workers have said for years: snail serum is effective.

Products containing snail serum work thanks to a process called hydroxylation. When it is used daily, the enzymes in this natural substance can help decompose damaged cells and bring oxygen to them. This serum also increases the proliferation of fibroblasts which are responsible for repairing damaged tissue and regenerating healthy skin.

Certainly both snail serum and onion extract gel are obtained from natural substances, but only the former will help you attain scar free healing.
